In short
Essential cookies keep the basket and checkout working. Everything else — analytics, the booking calendar, WhatsApp — only loads if you agree on the banner.
You can change your answer any time using the cookie settings link in the footer, and declining changes nothing about how the site works for you.
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — that your basket has something in it, or that you’ve already answered the cookie banner.
Some are set by this website. Others are set by the tools I use to run it, such as the payment and booking systems. I also use similar technologies — pixels, local storage and tags — and where I say “cookies” below, I mean those too.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, I can only place cookies that aren’t strictly necessary if you agree to them first.
So when you first arrive, you’ll see a banner. Nothing beyond the essentials is set until you choose. Declining costs you nothing — the site works exactly the same, I just see less about how it’s used.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie settings link in the footer
These make the site function. They can’t be switched off, and they don’t need your consent.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| woocommerce_cart_hash | This site | Remembers what’s in your basket | Session |
| woocommerce_items_in_cart | This site | Shows the basket count in the header | Session |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | This site | Links you to your basket and order | 2 days |
| cookie_consent | This site | Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months |
| __stripe_mid / __stripe_sid | [Payment provider] | Fraud prevention at checkout | 1 year / 30 min |
These tell me which pages are read, which guides get attention and where people give up, so I can improve the site. The data is aggregated; I can’t identify you from it.

[Confirm: does The Let Loft run Meta or Google ads, or use a retargeting pixel? If yes, list those cookies here. If no, keep the line below.]
I don’t currently use advertising or retargeting cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated and you’ll be asked again.
Cookie names and durations set by third parties can change without notice. If you spot something here that’s out of date, please tell me.
You can also block or delete cookies yourself. Every major browser lets you do this, usually under Settings → Privacy:
One warning: if you block all cookies, the basket and checkout will stop working, because those genuinely need them.
Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no agreed standard for it, so this site doesn’t respond to it — use the cookie banner instead, which does exactly what it says.
Cookies are one of the ways information about you is collected. Everything else — what I hold, why, how long for, and your rights over it — is set out in the Privacy Policy.
